Slot Car Suspension

Slot cars only got suspension after 2000 or so.
This is the history of the last 20 years or so.

NINCO type

The first to adopt this technology was NINCO, which can be found on the Renault Clio and Porsche 911.
At almost the same time, it was also deployed in rally raids such as the Mitsubishi Pajero.
This will become a standard item for NINCO rally models.

The lineup consists of soft, medium and hard varieties.
The shape is similar to the strut type of a real car.
It also looks like a "suspension".

You can really feel the difference in performance, but changing it doesn't really affect your time (laughs).
It was a little strange, but it was a very satisfying item.

slot.it type

Next up in the lineup was slot.it, which added suspension.

Unlike NINCO, it creates a suspension effect by moving the motor mount and main chassis.
This went on to become a standard item adopted by most manufacturers who adopted motor mounts after this.

Also, NINCO was a genuine item,
This is an upgrade part.
What was previously a metal spring has now become a magnetic suspension, utilizing the repulsive force between like poles of magnets.
(Later, slot.it will also offer spring suspension.)

Because each has a different effect

The NINCO type (such as AvantSlot's Raid) which is attached directly to the chassis and the slot.it type (such as NSR and ScaleAuto) which is attached between the motor mount and chassis are most effective in different situations.

The NINCO style is more effective when cornering, on uneven roads, or when landing from jumps.
It's like a slot.it system that absorbs force and prevents wheelspin when starting or accelerating (with an emphasis on traction efficiency).

Because the original design has a set installation format, it is not possible to simply compare and choose between them.
When adding suspension (or changing settings such as firmness), you will be able to see the effects more clearly if you keep in mind these basic effects (for example, with slot.it, adding suspension = improved traction efficiency).
